Networking  issues when rebooting into XP Pro after using Windows 7 on mutiboot PC
I multiboot one PC between Windows 7 and XP Pro. I notice when I boot back into XP Pro from Windows 7 that my PC does not see the other PC's (I have 2 others that run XP only and all 3 are networked)and often has no internet connection (which I can usually resolve by resetting my router). I am wondering why this is happening and can I tweek something in Windows 7 so that when I boot back into XP Pro eveything networks as normal?

Can't help with a fix but I thought I'd mention that I have two systems networked andmy #2 system dual-boots between XP Pro w/SP3 and Win7 RC and I've had no network issues when #2 is switched beteen XP or Win7. From #2 I readily see the #1 system and, if turned on, an external drive connected via the router.

So your problem is when you log in to Windows XP? This is a forum for issues with Windows 7.

I only have problems with my network after I have been using Windows 7. I multiboot between XP Pro, Vista and Windows 7. After using Windows 7 is the only time I have issues with the network so I assume there is something about Windows 7 that changes something. If I use Vista and boot back to XP Pro, there is no network issue. If I go straight to AP Pro, there is no network issue. Therefore, I assume there is something about Windows 7 that is causing the issue.

Ruthie43,Some people have found that updating the firmware on the router helps. Not sure about your specific router.
